Penhaligon's has launched four Intense editions in August 2026 as the Portraits collection turns ten. The Tragedy of Lord George, The Coveted Duchess Rose, The Blazing Mister Sam and Changing Constance now have new Eau de Parfum interpretations in 75 ml bottles.

Lord George builds his darker chapter around rum, chocolate and vetiver, with tonka lending extra richness to the chocolate. Duchess Rose moves from her familiar rose into a warmer pairing of vanilla and golden amber. One feels smoky and gourmand, while the other glows with floral warmth.

Mister Sam takes the riskier route with plum liquor, tobacco and leather over patchouli. Changing Constance keeps her salted caramel but gives the sweetness a sharper edge of saffron and pimento. Together, the quartet moves through dark fruit, smoke, spice and polished sweetness.

Intense does not simply mean turning up the same idea here. Penhaligon's describes each scent as a reimagining with deeper, darker facets, and the new note structures make that shift clear. Dark glass and golden animal caps give the family's late-night chapter an equally visible identity.
