Darren Alan Perfumes has chosen Butterfly Bush as its August 2026 Perfume of the Month. The limited release is a 10 ml Parfum built as a buddleia soliflore, inspired by the dense purple flower spikes that fill the perfumer's Pennsylvania garden in late summer.

Bergamot catches the flower's green, stem-like side in the opening. That freshness keeps the composition clear before jasmine and heliotrope give the center a softer, creamier glow with a lightly powdery edge. It feels closer to a warm garden in motion than a neatly arranged bouquet.

Ambrette seed, orris root, sandalwood, vanilla and a vintage-inspired musk accord shape the base. Orris brings a dry, fine texture, while ambrette and musk soften the edges into a warm, skin-close trail. Vanilla works as a rounded finish rather than the main event.

The slim 10 ml format suits the idea behind the monthly series: a focused small-batch fragrance that takes center stage for a single month. Butterfly Bush becomes both a portrait of an unusual flower and a compact collectible for anyone drawn to classic florals with modern transparency.
